Investor Forum

Overview

Singapore’s equities market is taking steps to make investing more accessible for retail investors. Some of the key reforms include:

-Reducing board lot sizes for higher-priced stocks and maintaining free float requirements to support market stability

-Modernising the post-trade custody system, allowing retail investors to manage their SGX holdings through broker custody accounts

This forum brings together a diverse mix of stakeholders — traditional brokers, custodian brokers, academic professors and retail investors — to discuss how these reforms impact retail investors. each group and the broader market. We hope to hear from active investors and collate your views in SIAS' feedback for the public consultation papers on these initiatives.
