Understanding Analysts' Reports and Recommendations

Overview

Almost all brokerages provide retail investors access to analysts’ research reports. Research reports help retail investors understand the profitability and financial health of a company and saves investors the time, effort and expertise needed to read and analyse the company’s annual report and quarterly filings. But do we actually understand the research reports themselves? How do we know what are the assumptions made and the math that go into the analysis? What are the key things to look out for in a research report? This is an introductory course to demystify stock research reports. With a combination of both theory and hands-on practice, this course will arm investors with the basic understanding of what goes into a typical research report and how best to read it.
